"This Monument is a tribute to honour the 456 United Staes Army Air Force Airmen who paid the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives during aerial combat while serving with the 446th Bombardment Group in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II. We who survived, salute our fellow comrades and believe it be fitting and proper that this Memorial Monument be dedicated in the memory of our fallen Comrades and Heroes."
